As 2017 comes to a close, we look forward to the New Year along with new packaging and color trends. Pantone has chosen Ultra Violet as their 2018 color of the year. Pantone describes Ultra Violet as a “blue-based purple that takes our awareness and potential to a higher level.” This is the perfect shade of purple to use alone or combine it with metallic foil stamping, spot uv or other shades from Pantone’s neutral palette.
Along with custom treatments, Ultra Violet can be used on an assortment of reusable and recyclable materials such as pp non-woven, specialty art-papers, cotton, muslin, plastic, velvet or kraft papers made with post-consumer waste. Use this hue to push the creativity envelope and design something brand new for your customers to love and use repeatedly.
In the New Year, we will be seeing Ultra Violet in all aspects of design and fashion, especially in upcoming packaging trends for 2018. If you are looking to update your packaging or to just add a bright pop of color to your bags, boxes or ecommerce supplies, Ultra Violet will be sure to push the creative boundaries and leave its unique mark in the fashion and packaging world.
