Governor Cuomo has signed into legislation that bans the sale of single use plastic bags in New York beginning in March of 2020. The signing of this legislation is a significant step for the state in becoming more environmentally friendly.

It is estimated that New York alone uses about 23 billion single use plastic bags annually. Nationwide studies also show that 50% of those single use plastic bags end up in landfills or our local waterways. New York is the third state to ban single-use plastic bags next to California and Hawaii.
